Microsoft Office vulnerability

I have received the following information which I am unable to do anything about so I am considering FreeOffice. Can the developers tell me if this is also a problem with FreeOffice? Also would it help to install FreeOffice on a USB?

Altering cell styles

I want to change my cell properties, such as font size, permanently.
The instructions say Home/Format/Cell Styles/Manage cell styles from dropdown list. But there is no dropdown list, just a set of different styles.
Am I missing something?
